Dist of Columbia coatings contractors apply tank coatings to protect the interior and exterior of water, digester, and chemical tanks during industrial applications. For the tank's exterior, contractors tend to use epoxy and polyurethane coatings for waterproofing and corrosion protection purposes. For the interior of a steel tank, contractors use polyurea or epoxy due to their abrasion resistance and heat resistance.
